CIRCULAR NO. : April 2015
- Registration for Form 1 and Primary 1 (2016)
1.1 Registration for Form 1 and Primary 1 for next year (2016) will close on 30 April 2015. To date we have received 189 applications for Form 1 and 136 applications for Primary 1.
1.2 The applicants for Form 1 will sit for an assessment test on Saturday, 9 May 2015 and for Primary 1 will be on Saturday, 20 June 2015.
1.3 Final acceptance of the child will depend on the following conditions:
i) number of vacancies available
ii) the child’s performance in the assessment test
iii) the child’s position in our wait list
iv) favourable reports from the child’s former school and other extra-curricular activities
2. Inter-House Athletic Meet
2.1 The Inter-House Athletics Meet will be held at the Jubilee Ground, Jalan Padungan on Sunday, 12 April 2015.
2.2 All students are to report to the sports field by 7.00 a.m. on that day. All athletes are to occupy the right grand stand while parents and other students may occupy the left grand stand.
2.3 For safety and security reasons, all athletes must stay with their teachers-in-charge and teams throughout the meet. If parents wish to take their children home early, please inform the respective teacher-in-charge.
2.4 Please bring drinking water for your children in view of the likely hot weather. Ms. Justina, our Canteen Operator, will be available to sell some tidbits and drinks.
2.5 The events are likely to be over by 1.30 p.m. Please arrange to pick up your children from the sports field.
2.6 There will be no school on Monday, 13 April 2015. School will continue as usual on 14 April 2015.

- Parents – Teachers Interview (PTI) – (Secondary School)
3.1 Two Parents-Teachers Interviews (PTI) are scheduled for the year 2015.
i) 22 (Wednesday) and 23 (Thursday) April 2015
ii) 5 (Wednesday) and 6 (Thursday) August 2015
3.2 Teachers will normally contact parents with whom they wish to discuss matters on the first day. Parents may make appointments to meet teachers on the second day.
3.3 Parents who wish to discuss the progress of their children with teachers (on 23 April) may call the secretary Ms. Nancy Ong, to make an appointment.
3.4 Parents are encouraged at other times to liaise with the class teachers concerning the studies, conduct, attendance and welfare of their children, but please make an appointment with the secretary.
- Bantuan Khas Persekolahan
4.1 The Federal Government has given out subsidies of RM100 to all Malaysian students in schools throughout the nation.
4.2 The subsidies for the Secondary students in Form 1, 2, 3 and 4 were given out to them on Friday, 13 March 2015.
4.3 The subsidies for the Primary students in Primary 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 were given to the parents on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 March 2015 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school office.
4.4 If the money is not collected by 23 March 2015, the amount will be returned to the Government.
- Sense of Responsibility
5.1 In order to cultivate a sense of responsibility among our students, parents are kindly requested NOT to send items (e.g books, homeworks, P.E. uniforms, badminton racquet, locker keys, etc.) which the students forget to bring to school.
5.2 Apart from causing a lot of inconvenience to parents, these acts of forgetfulness show a lack of responsibility among our students.
5.3 If because of their forgetfulness, the students need to be demerited, then they deserve to be. At least they will remember the next time.
- Safety and Security
6.1 Parents are kindly reminded to pick up your children punctually as soon as they are dismissed from school. We are concerned about the number of younger children who have to wait for a long time at the school porch long after classes have been dismissed.
6.2 Please note that after 5.15 p.m., no teaching staff will be at the school to attend to emergency. Cases of child abduction in some schools as reported in the media are causes for concern.
6.3 Students are not allowed to leave the school compound to buy things from the shops nearby. The school will not be responsible for any unwanted incident that may occur should they leave the school compound during school break, lunch or after school.
- Withdrawal from St. Joseph’s Private School
Please be reminded that parents wishing to withdraw their child from school must give one (1) month notice in writing of the intended withdrawal. Otherwise, an additional term’s fee will be charged.
- Order of meals from the Canteen
Please take note that orders for meals from the school canteen for the subsequent month should be made by 20th of each month. Parents are kindly requested not to hand in your meal order during the break or lunch times.
